Stillbirth Awareness – 4 Louis

26/07/19 – Community, Wellbeing

stillbirth awareness

Sadly in the UK, 15 babies die each day before, during or shortly after birth, that is an average of one baby every 90 minutes, stillbirth awareness and neonatal death remains a taboo subject with people often unsure of what to say or how to behave around those who have experienced it leading to the parents in the heartbreaking situation feeling isolated.

In support of Sands Awareness Month which took place throughout June, we chose to raise money for the 4Louis charity. This charity is close to Medigold Health’s heart as one of our colleagues and her fiancé sadly lost their beautiful little girl, when she was born sleeping. The charity provided wonderful support to our colleague during this incredibly difficult time and continues to offer free support to families in similar situations.

4Louis provide parents with special memory boxes, allowing them to take hand and footprints in ink and clay as well as other important items. They also contribute towards bereavement rooms in hospitals so that parents can spend time with their baby.

Throughout June Team Medigold Health held a variety of events across our offices and clinics to raise money and awareness for stillbirth and neonatal death, and we are so pleased to announce that collectively we have raised £830.00
