Welcome to the Fifth Issue of the Learning Loop!
We are pleased to welcome you to the latest edition of the Learning Loop, your exclusive bimonthly Training & Consultancy bulletin. Here, Medigold Health’s Training and Consultancy Team share insightful blogs, valuable resources, and essential information to support your organisation and its employees.
Spotlight on Mental Health and Suicide.
In this edition, we’re shining a light on two important topics – mental health and suicide.
In the UK, it’s estimated that around 1 in 4 people experience mental health problems each year. This significant statistic underscores the prevalence of mental health concerns across the population and highlights the importance of supportive mental health strategies in workplaces and communities to help those who are facing these challenges.
In addition, September 10th marks World Suicide Prevention Day. A staggering 1 in 15 people attempt suicide, which is why, in this edition, we will be focusing on the importance of understanding and addressing suicide as a critical mental health concern.
Our Disability Training and Consultancy expert, Barrie Norman Jnr, delves into his personal story and highlights the critical need for greater awareness and education on this important issue.
We hope you find this edition of the Learning Loop both informative and inspiring!

World Suicide Prevention Day – The importance of suicide awareness in the workplace
Suicide is an international public health challenge. It is estimated that around 800,000 people die from suicide each year – that’s one person every 40 seconds.
But suicide is preventable, and we can all play a part in reducing this number by raising awareness, starting conversations, and learning how we can support someone who may be thinking about taking their own life.
Every year on 10th September, World Suicide Prevention Day aims to spread this message across the globe, and it’s one we want to help share.
